Exterior Insulating Sheathing: When combined with
wall insulation must achieve a minimum R-1 5.8.
2. Duct Insulation:
Required in unconditioned spaces. Metal ducts are
preferred. R 5.6 installed value on metal ducts.
R 8 for flex supply ducts. R 5.6 for flex return
ducts.
3. Windows:
Double pane insulating.
4. Gas Piping:
Required for water heater, furnace, range or oven and cook
top, dryer and fire starter in fireplace.
5. Hot Water Piping:
˝" minimum insulation required on all hot water
piping above grade.
6. Wall Insulation:
When combined with exterior insulating sheathing must
achieve a minimum R-1 5.8. Vapor Barrier required.
7. Air Infiltration:
Exterior door and window jambs caulked, insulated and
weather-stripped. Exterior sole plate sealed.
8. Attic Insulation:
R-30 minimum.
9. Attic Ventilation:
Soffit and baffle vents required at eaves in combination
with gable vents, ridge or roof vents, or power
ventilators. |

Floor Insulation: R-1 9 minimum over
unconditioned space. Vapor Barrier required.
11. Fireplace:
Required to have damper and gas fire starter.
12. Furnace:
Energy-efficient gas furnace with a 78% AFUE or a
hydronic heating system coupled with a gas water heater.
13. Air
Conditioner: Energy-efficient gas air conditioning
with minimum COP of .48 or electric air conditioning with
10 SEER minimum.

Water Heater: Energy-efficient gas water heater with
minimum recovery efficiency of 75%.
15.
Cooking: Energy-efficient gas range or a gas surface
unit.
16.
Attic Access & Chases: Attic access must be
insulated and weather-stripped. All
chases into unconditioned space must be
sealed with caulking or weather-stripping.
